Week in pictures-Tuesday

Second day into my photo regime and I'm finding it hard! I think I can blame it on the fact that I'm working today so I'm not free to just walk about with my camera snapping whatever I want.

Anyway, I had to wake up early this morning :( I'm really not a morning person.
Started off the day with some fruit and yoghurt. This makes me look so healthy haha.

It was raining today :( I couldn't find an umbrella so just braved it. It was only drizzling so it wasn't too bad.
Bought some snacks. Ate three. Opps

 Super jazzy socks from Topman.

Week in pictures-Monday

I am a massive lover of photography and finally invested in a DSLR after contemplating for years. Sadly, I haven't even put it to much good use and it's been sitting on a shelf, gathering dust. :(

So no more abandonment dear camera! I shall use it to document days in my life, no matter how mundane, because I want to look back on this blog someday and be like "Oh, that was a good day!".

My day off so I may have slept in until 12am...Annnnyway, woke up and had like 3 packs of this sushi that they sell in a nearby supermarket. Not the most authentic but 'twas cheap, can't complain.

Admired my orchids for a while. When I bought it, the white one looked really sad and my mum was like it's probably not going to make it so just leave it. But because it was so pretty and I was determined to nurse it back to health I bought it back and gave it some TLC and voila! My baby's all good! I think I surprised everyone because the last time I had a plant in my room, it went from healthy to clutching on for dear life because I forgot to water it. But this time, I showed them ;)

Then I watched a bit of 500 Days of Summer . I recently read a snippet of an interview with JGL where he gave his explanation of the film and it has helped me truly understand the film. I used to be like a lot of people, blaming Summer for their relationship's demise and found her actions selfish. But really, Tom's expectations were unrealistic. I think this is a beautiful film, especially now that I'm viewing it from a perspective that the director intended.

"He develops a mildly delusional obsession over a girl onto whom he projects all these fantasies. He thinks she’ll give his life meaning because he doesn’t care about much else going on in his life."
"A lot of boys and girls think their lives will have meaning if they find a partner who wants nothing else in life but them," he concluded. "That’s not healthy. That’s falling in love with the idea of a person, not the actual person."

Anyway, have a good day :)

August wishlist

My birthday is coming up soon so I'm going to compile a list of everything I'd wish for, real or not.

1.The weather has been real indecisive in the past few days to the point where I stick my hand out of my window to judge what to wear.
I've got s**tloads of clothes but don't have enough time in the mornings to match things and pick out an outfit so I just grab whatever and end up looking a mess. If only I had that outfit picker Cher from Clueless had. Hell I might even get some decent outfits since the 90s are back right?

2. I wish I could just randomly gain the ability to cook. It would not only save me hours of looking at food porn on tumblr but also actually let me taste it. I'm sick of looking at all the delish tumblr photos only to resort to butter on toast later.

Just in case you've never experienced food porn then here are some examples:

WHO WANTS FOOD? I definitely do.

3. Urban Outfitters Dinosaur Kigu.

Who doesn't want to have need a dinosaur costume?

I can't really think of any more. I seem to always run out of ideas after listing 3 items/ideas.

Tbh, birthdays have never been amazingly important to me but compiling lists are always FUN!(That just made sound like some crazy super organised person, which I am sadly not.)

Favourite movies

Third post in three consecutive days, go me!

Since I'm on holiday from work and its too hot to be going out everyday, I've been having a movie marathon in the comforts of my own living room...with lots of food. It's bad I know.

I've always found it hard to say what my favourite film is because there's so many good films out there so I've put together a list of my current top 3.

So in no particular order, here goes:

1.Mean Girls

This has been one of my favourite films since forever. A lot of people act really shocked when I tell them but seriously, it's such a funny, quotable film. Not only is the screenplay really good, the cast are amazing too. I just love this film to pieces and to top off how sad I am, I know 99% of the lines. It gets really annoying if you watch the film with me haha.

2.Fight Club

I know this is so drastic from the first one but this is a really thought provoking film. It looks into the problems we have in society and confronts them in an interesting manner. I've yet to read the book but I definitely will.

3.Wall.E

I only watched this for the first time last week. However, since then I've re-watched a couple more times because with Pixar films, you've gotta see it a few times to notice the Easter eggs or the tiny background jokes. Again, it's a thought provoking film but done very subtly obviously due to the younger target audience but just serious enough to get the point across and be non condescending to older audiences. The relationship between Wall-E and EVE is beautiful despite the lack of communication. So much love for this film.

Also, Sincerely Dolly is having a giveaway so feel free to enter!
